Test & measurement facilities

The Group has extensive test & measurement facilities to support our research. In our development labs we have a wide variety of test & measurement instruments including:-

Anritsu ‘Lightning’ ME78080B broadband vector network analyser (VNA) system comprising a 37397D VNA (to 67 GHz), two MG3693B 20 GHz synthesisers and 3738A Test Set. High frequency heads available:-

  • 2 off Anritsu 3742A T/R modules for 67 – 110 GHz
  • 2 off OML V05VNA2-T/R modules for 140 – 220 GHz
  • 2 off OML V02.2VNA2-T/R modules for 325 – 500 GHz

Hewlett-Packard 8510C VNA with 26.5 GHz test set and 40 GHz test set

Spectrum Analysers from HP and Rohde & Schwarz to 1.8, 22 and 40 GHz

Signal generators from HP, Marconi and Anritsu to 2, 2.4, 3.2, 4, 10 and 26.5 GHz

Power meters and sensors from HP to 18, 26.5 and 50 GHz in coax and 26.5 – 40, 33 – 50, and 75 – 110 GHz in waveguide. We also have a Thomas Keating Ltd. Free Space Absolute Power Meter which works to 1000 GHz.

Oscilloscopes from Rohde & Schwarz, HP and LeCroy with bandwidths of up to 600 MHz (10 GSa/s), 4 GHz (20 GSa/s) and 6 GHz (20 GSa/s).
