Samiur, Duncan and Aleks recently conducted a successful field trial to collect clutter and marine target data at Coniston Water in the Lake District. This was conducted jointly with the broader STREAM research group with members from the University of Birmingham MISL. This trial will be the first of a number of such endeavours to collect a large dataset for statistical analysis of sea clutter data and to develop target detection algorithms, both for the development of sensors for autonomous vessels.
