Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

Professor Peter Riedi carries out NMR studies of strongly magnetic materials in which the frequencies and relaxation times are more typical of ESR than conventional NMR. Thus the series of pulsed spectrometers we have designed and constructed over the range 10MHz to 1GHz have had unique properties and have attracted sabbatical visitors to St Andrews from around the world. This NMR expertise is also useful in designing ENDOR schemes for our new pulsed spectrometer, HIPER. We are also developing microcoil experiments for high field ENDOR.
