We’re celebrating Matt’s success in passing his viva on Tuesday – huge congratulations Matt for all the hard work over the past 3.5 years! Matt’s thesis “Millimetre wave radar for internal classification of drones” was examined by Dr Mike Antoniou of Birmingham University and our colleague Dr Ian Czekala.
Whilst the pond in the School of Physics & Astronomy was filled in many years ago, ceasing the old tradition of throwing the PhD candidate into the water to celebrate their viva, we followed the new tradition of soaking them with buckets of water from above! Luckily it was a mild day and Matt survived without incident!
